Speak it, Act it

Continuing in Matthew....Matthew 23:1-12

Now Jesus focuses on the religious leaders. Jesus says all in this chapter. The pharisees did not have a problem with the knowledge of truth or even the ability to speak it. Their application of truth was the issue. Their actions in the name of God were for the people, so they would be respected by men. They enjoyed moving up the social ladder by using their religious position. Unfortunately, I think this is still a huge pitfall for followers of Christ and even religious leaders. We make our primary goal the praise and respect of people.

Jesus reminds them (us) to be great is to be a servant. To be exalted, you must be humble. His words still cut cleanly.
